Jessie J
Jessica Ellen Cornish (also known as Jessie J) is an English musician and singer. Known for her unconventional music style, that mixes soul, pop, hip-hop and electropop, Jessie garnered much fame in her early years. Her work has earned her numerous nominations and awards for instance, the 'Critics' Choice Brit Award', and "BBC's Sound of 2011.' Her career began at the young age of 11 after she got a role in 'Whistle Down the Wind,' the musical written created by English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. The year 2002 was the time she was cast on the "National Youth Music Theater" production of "The late sleepers." The album she released her debut "Who You Are" was launched in February of 2011. It was her biggest hit that year. The album was a huge success, selling 105,000 copies in the UK and 344,000 in the US within the first week after its launch. It topped the charts at #2 among the UK Albums Chart and number 11 on the US Billboard 200. Jessie has also been known for her work in the field of charity and participates in charitable organizations like 'Children in Need,' and "Comic Relief."
